Rustic Rust-Oleum Shop Sign From A Mystery Kit

Rustic Rust-Oleum Shop Sign

The Rust-Oleum Creator’s Studio features a recurring DIY-er event called Mystery Kit Challenge. A certain number of members who want to participate are chosen to take part in this challenge.

Basically, Rust-Oleum sends out a mystery package filled with materials and some Rust-Oleum products, and it’s up to the Challenge contestant to figure out what to make from them. There’s some rules to adhere to, and a deadline to submit the completed project.

Once the deadline ends, a period of time to allow for voting for the favorite project begins. Once the votes are tallied, the top three projects are crowned winners and prizes are handed out!

I participated in this challenge for the first time recently and built the rustic Rust-Oleum shop sign for my garage/shop pictured above. Learn more about this project below.

I haven’t had the time to participate in past Mystery Kit challenges, so I was thrilled to be able to do this one! The chance to win a prize is nice, but I see this challenge as a way to put my creativity to the test. The mystery kit I was sent definitely lived up to the “challenge” description!

My wife and I came up with several ideas, but in the end I felt that creating a rustic Rust-Oleum shop sign would be the perfect project.

If you’d like to see what was in my kit along with building process photos, check out my project listing over at the Rust-Oleum Creator’s Studio.

You should join the Creator’s Studio while you’re there! It’s an awesome community of DIYers and there’s fun opportunities for challenges like this and for Rust-Oleum product testing.
